June 20th marked the official first day of summer as we celebrated Summer Solstice for 2016. If you felt something extremely special in the air, it was because something also happened in the cosmos that only lines up with the Summer Solstice every 70 years. The full moon that shined brightly in the sky last night is known as the “Strawberry” full moon and for many, will be once in a lifetime event.

“By landing exactly on the solstice, this full moon doesn’t just rise as the sun sets but is opposite the sun in all other ways too,” explains Bob Berman of The Old Farmers Almanac. Because the sun is so high, the moon will be low, its light coming through thicker air, which is often humid at this time of year, and creating an amber-coloured moon. “This is the true Honey Moon,” says Berman.

Astrologists say that this full “Strawberry” moon will bring a much needed outburst of peace and love. It brings full but restful energy and is a time to take responsibility for present happenings. It is prime time for making those decisions in life that you have been wavering back and fourth on and having more consistency where you want it in your life. Recognize and acknowledge the positive traits within yourself and those around you as we enter into the summer and reward those behaviors! Keep the peace, positivity and love flowing!
