Little by little, our Eugene organic clothing making shop and warehouse is coming together. This past Spring brought the biggest improvements yet with the installation of our new cutting table, shelving, laundry equipment and the beginnings of a cozy corner retail space.
And lots of time spent prettying things up and watering the flowers. After all, inspiration is everything. Yes, it’s a little hot in here this summer, but we have fans..
The girls are busy sewing 100% hemp fiber Wrap Skirts & Tulip Wrap Skirts this week. A sure sign that Summer is truly here! But next we’re really heating it up when we start working on our new True Tank, made of feather weight hemp & organic jersey, as well as the new Hot Pants (short shorts, that it). More on those soon..
Another sign of summer time is kids in the work place. We have kids and we love kids, but to be quite honest, we get more done when the kids stay home with the daddies..
We believe in responsible consumerism and so much of our work equipment is second-hand gear. Hello Craig’s list! When things start to wear out, we do our best to repair instead of replace.. That said, our trusty garment steamer, after years of steaming away for us, many repairs and duct tape jobs, is finally being replaced – An amazing new Jiffy steamer with metal head and wooden handle has taken it’s place. Prep person bliss, if you can stand that kind of heat. Now to get light bulbs in the chandeliers and we’ll be in great shape! (see picture #2, we really do have chandeliers)
We’re having a lot of fun planning and creating our shopping space for visitors! We don’t have much of a budget to work with but we have lots of enthusiasm and treasures to delight! We want to create a warm and inviting space for ladies to come and try out the designs as well as host the occasional clothing swap and sale. Watch this space for opening day!
